Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a former physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
